    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I know this is aviation law, but I wish there were more explanations using day-to-day examples instead of always aviation related. I had to do a lot of outside research to apply what I was learning to something I am a little more familiar.

    Course highlights:

Loved learning about tort law. I also had a really fun (seriously!) time writing papers describing why I thought someone was or wasn't guilty. I enjoyed the critical thinking this class requires.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

if you aren't a pilot, or don't have a lot aviation experience, do a little outside research to help you apply what you're learning to things that you're more familiar. For example, I had trouble understanding tort law until googled "famous tort law cases" and realize that's how OJ Simpson was found responsible for his wife's death even though he had already been found not guilty.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This professor invokes an environment whereby learning is maximized. A passionate professor makes the difference! I knew little about aviation law prior to this course. Thanks to this course, I now have developed a strong foundation.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was realizing just how much the world of law combines and fits hand in hand with aviation. This knowledge has armed me in such a way, I have become a better flight instructor than I ever have been. Another highlight was diving into the United States Constitution—the ultimate source of law. This is something I feel denizens of America don't understand well enough. In short, the practicality of this course, and seeing the fruits of my labors in my actual field of work, can be counted as a monumental highlight.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

    1. Read the entire chapters cover to cover. 2. Highlight all unfamiliar words and terms you come across in your readings. Make flashcards out of them. You will be grateful and see your knowledge augment. 3. Save all of the answers from your reading reviews on a document. You can use them for the times sectional exams. 4. Call the professor if you need help. He is great that way. 5. Have fun. I could have done better with this department. A good attitude will get you through even the toughest of days.
