Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Tyler Chadwick is one of the best English professors that is on the Utah Valley University campus. He teaches English but he starts off the class with topics such as, the importance of respecting other people. He then moves on from these topics to better understanding language as a whole. It was a brand new take on English that any young college student would totally enjoy. It's refreshing to be honest. Take Tyler Chadwick for English if you can. You will have to do a lot of writing and lot of reading, but it's really not that bad. You will really like Tyler.

    Course highlights:

I gained a greater appreciation for language as a whole. It's not just about English as a singular language, it's more about effective communication between two people and how that can lead to positive out comes. He teaches that language is a tool that should be learned but not that it's something to rule your life. You rule your life using language.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

One of the biggest things that you need to succeed is a willingness to speak up in class. All of his topics need a lot of people to bounce ideas off of. So speak up. Make sure that you are willing to think outside of the box about somethings in life. He takes you to places and explores ideas not many have thought about before.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love English courses and writing in general. However, I have found that in Utah Valley's English courses, they have found creative and different ideas to teach writing ideas.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed this course. The teacher made it her goal to get to know each of the students she taught. She tailored specific lessons to specific students, and took time to make sure that we understood. Though 1010 courses are just the basics, you learn about a lot of classic stories along with writing techniques.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course, but make sure you have the text book. The reading assignments are very helpful in understanding what is being taught in class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is excellent. If you like group work or any other kinds of discussions, you should take this class.

    Course highlights:

I learned not only writing but also reading and discussing. I love this class because the class makes people learn more rules of writing, which helps students not only in English but also in other courses.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The professor is great and if you like group work, just take it. If you don't, try it, it will help you a lot with writing. There are not much homework in this class, not many tests, so if you focus on teachers during the class, you should be fine.
