    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class teaches you more than the problem solving skills in an intro CS class. You get into the nitty-gritty aspects involved with coding in C++, while still obtaining invaluable information that can be abstracted to different languages like python or java.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me how important it was to write organized code. It is apparent by looking at my code from the first assignment to the last assignment that I grew tremendously this semester in documenting my code, writing more memory-efficient data structures, and more robust code that would prevent common issues like seg faults or memory leaks.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be able to treat this class like it is a full-time job. If you can, take this course in an otherwise light workload semester. This course is full of useful information, but it really only helps if you are willing to take advantage of all of the resources available to you. Go to office hours, participate in homework discussion forums, and most importantly: do not think that you can start your homework two days before the deadline and get away with it. This is not a class for serial procrastinators.
