    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

I went into this course dreading it, because I was terrified of public speaking. The first day of class, Professor Rodriguez had us all stand up and said "If you don't see yourself as a leader one day, sit down." I was embarrassingly the only person who sat down, because I firmly believed that I would not become a leader. I mean, I couldn't even give a speech. He knew I was going to be a hard case and started working on my development right away. I slowly began to realize what I was capable of. I was able to find my voice and express my opinions and ideas without fear of judgement, and my confidence grew. Because I took this speech class, I learned far more things than just public speaking. I learned how to listen. I learned how to prepare for an interview, and it landed me an amazing job. I learned to make an impact on others, and most of all, I learned to fake confidence until I finally developed real confidence. After taking this course, I believe in myself more than I ever have in the past.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

As well as all the other courses I've taken, I want to emphasize how important it is to take it seriously and make an effort. If no effort is made, this course won't have much of an impact. But if you take it seriously and let it transform you, it leads to amazing opportunities.
