    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Even though the class is tough, it will definitely prepare you for any upper division science class you will take at La Sierra. It will also give you taste at what studying at professional schools is like. The professor who taught the course taught me how to really study biology and made sure that each and every one of us do not slack off. Out of all the biology classes I have taken, this class was the one in which I had to pour in countless hours to study.

    Course highlights:

The presentations given during each lecture are all very informative and if one at least studies the lecture materials thoroughly, they will be able to pass the class. The professor also made sure to make lectures interesting and has always demonstrated great knowledge of plant biology, which is what this course was mainly about.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

First of all, do not slack off. Study every day. Tests can be difficult and are all short answer and fill in the blank, so do not expect to get away with guessing. If you do not take the time to study the material thoroughly, you will not do well on the exams. Study the lecture materials and read the book. I find it helpful to write down the information I learned repeatedly to reinforce memory of the course material. The professor is also a big tester on diagrams and pictures and may ask you on exams and quizzes to draw stuff. He will tell you what diagrams and pictures to know, so make you do study them. Practice drawing pictures and diagrams as well, as you may be asked to do the same thing on exams and quizzes.
