    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although this was the most difficult class I've ever taken, it was the one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.

    Course highlights:

The class covers many facets of the scientific world, with themes such as evolution and adaptation applied throughout all coursework.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't buy the ebook, because there is so much information that you will need to flip through a physical book. Also, many studies have shown that physically highlighting/annotating books grants an increased retention of information, as opposed to simply clicking through an ebook.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

My favorite course at Mayfield was AP Biology. In this class, I learned many things, both on the academic and emotional level. Ever since I was little, I was always fascinated by the human body – how it works, how it thinks, and why it does certain things. In this class, I was able to indulge in my obsession. I learned many things that will contribute to my college career and hopefully medical career. Moreover, this was the first class that I had a failed test in. In regular bio and chemistry, I would get at least an A average on my tests. However, when I got my first failed test, I ran crying to Ms. Peters asking her if I should drop the class. I was close in dropping it, but I did not.

    Course highlights:

Even though I was not the smartest person in that class, I still learned things and I pushed myself to limits I did not even know I could reach (staying up until 1:30 AM is one of them). Lastly, this class also steered me into the direction of a career in the medical field. This information can help me cure and save others.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be organized, be prepared for your first failed test, be prepared for the tough work, be prepared for blood and tears, but most of all: be prepared for the best class offered at Mayfield.
