Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was full of opportunities to write more freely in terms of structure. In fact, it was encouraged to be unique within papers rather than using a cookie-cutter format.

    Course highlights:

I loved my partner Morgan who was my second pair of eyes. Her help as my peer editor definitely assisted me in avoiding simple mistakes that could have reflected on my grade. I highly recommend making a good friend in all your English classes so you have someone who is willing to review your work and keep you updated on assignments you missed in the case of your absence. I learned how to use varying writing techniques and styles. I was especially proud of my synthesis paper. It took a lot of work, but I made it!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is essential to stay up to date on reading assignments in this course. Getting behind is stressful and sometimes you may never go back to read passages you missed. This can be harmful because my Instructor often referenced old reading assignments in pop quiz questions and also in short essay responses. Comprehension of what you read is also important. Also, start papers as soon as possible. Rushing is not fun.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I learn how to identify a good source and bad source. For example, a good source regularly has an author and a good source is balanced. Most of the time, I use the same writing process, because a common arrangement of an essay shouldn't change too much from assignment to assignment. Likewise, the best time to think about how to organize my paper is during the pre-writing stage. Furthermore, when I begin planning to write, I ask a question to myself: what type of essay am I going to write?. In this stage I, I don’t have any idea about the research paper, so I spent so much time to identify which one is a good source or a bad source. However, I didn't use OWL website before, but now I going to use for my Composition 1 class and music class. This website has a lot of information about the research paper. Therefore, Students can get information easily about the essay.

    Course highlights:

This class is very important to improve writing skill. This week, I have learned lots of different thigs such as avoiding run-ons, comma splices, and avoiding fragment. When I wrote my first essay in ENGL 1010 class, I made a huge mistake. I wrote two independent clauses without a conjunction or punctuation. In this time, I understand how to use tow independent clauses with a conjunction or punctuation. Therefore, I’m going to use a comma splice accurately in my next essay. Second, I have learned how to separate tow independent clauses with a comma. I’m going to use comma splice for my next essay. A comma splice is the use of a comma to connect tow independent clauses. Finally, I have learned to avoid sentence fragment. In conclusion. I have learned this three important writing skills in this week.
