    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

While any class with Mrs. Dakin is challenging, never have I learned more from a teacher. Her "get it done" attitude and witt truly make the class interesting. She grew up in New York City and has gone through a few tragedies, not to mention her vast knowledge on many cultures adds a spin on the course. The workload is for sure intense, especially the vocabulary and comprehension tests, but by the end of it all, you will have a whole new understanding and appreciation for the world around you.

    Course highlights:

There was only one real highlight of the course - Mrs. Dakin. I am not kidding when I say she has truly inspired the way I view the world, and truly believes in every single one of her students. I was lucky enough to have dinner with her one evening, and I have to say, never has a meal meant so much to me. The wisdom she has instilled in my peers and I will guide us for the rest of our lives, not to mention how prepared for college we have become. Mrs. Dakin will forever be a teacher of mine who shaped my life.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the class. Mrs. Dakin seems terrifying from a far, but I can assure you she is one of the sweetest people I know; however, if you're lazy or just don't enjoy writing at all, just take college prep English. I certainly recommend learning how to speak publicly, as there are numerous presentations, also pay attention to her lectures. Overall, Mrs. Dakin's soul makes up for the workload.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Mrs. Dakin taught a lot about not only literature, but also life. She gave the students valuable lessons to learn from and grow from.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the history of rulers within England and a lot about the various pieces from various periods, such as: Gothic, Romantic, etc.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes when she is talking and pay close attention to all the specific details. Also, don't be afraid to ask her questions if you need help with anything.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

When I walked into this class the first day I was petrified. The first thing I remember feeling was intimidation. The teacher told us that her name was Mrs. Dakin and that we were going to have a long, hard-working year ahead of us. After about a week with this lady we all started to warm up to her. She ended up being one of my favorite teachers and a pretty great person to look up to.

    Course highlights:

Not only did we learn about British Literature and how it is relevant in today's time but also about my classmates and teacher on a deeper level. She took what she was teaching us and make it clear that we all go through things like these authors and that it will be okay. We shared stories and experiences and we really got to know each other. Mrs. Dakin made every day a whole lot better.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell anyone that is thinking about or considering this course to take it. it is difficult to adjust to and you have to work hard but it's totally worth it.
