Not too easy. Not too difficult.

AP Environmental Science connects chemistry, politics, and biology with current issues. It comprises of fun interactive labs and requires critical thinking to solve evolving problems.

Students have units on population, toxins, water, ecology, and climate change. Through learning about these subjects, the student also weighs negative and positive effects humans have on each one.

    Hours per week:

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend taking AP Biology if you are interested in biology but specifically the different systems in the body such as how DNA is made or what the cell cycle is or how your body fights viruses and bacteria.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was carrying out all the experiments. For me, the experiments furthered my understanding of the concepts and were lots of fun because I was learning and experiencing something new.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering taking AP Biology I would definitely suggest meeting with your teacher when you don't understand and reviewing your notes from that day's lesson for homework because even though it's not assigned, you will have a better understanding of the information and won't have to cram study the night before a test.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because you really get a feel for what college is like. The class goes deep into the subject and you learn a lot about bio. You are expected to find the homework on your own and finish it with out being checked up on, this really teaches you how to manage your time. I found the material to be very interesting as well. I use what I learned in that class to this day.

    Course highlights:

This class really taught me what a challenging class was, and what it took to succeed in one. I learned so much about not only biology but also about my self and what I need to do in order to handle large work loads. I had to get used to doing my work with out a teacher checking up on me every five minuets and that has helped me in other classes too. I feel like I learned a very deep level of bio in the class and it has stuck with me since.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advise would be to stay ahead of your assignments. Do everything early and it will help you not get too stressed out. For me taking good notes was an important way for me to study for the tests. There may be temptation to slack off in large but you should not give in, those notes are vital for the tests and the AP test.
