    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I enjoyed the class overall and I expanded my knowledge of biology. She really gets to know how each student learns and helps you achieve a good grade. I would recommend this class to any junior.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned, in great detail, how exactly gene splicing occurs and what events must occur prior to the gene splicing to occur. I also learned a bit of anatomy in the class as well. We spent a great deal of time dissecting cats, due to their similarities to the human anatomy. It was a great experience with great instruction and it really sparked an interest in myself to possibly pursue a career in medicine.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this class one defiantly needs a strong work discipline. You will most likely spent a couple hours a week just reading and taking notes on top of homework that is assigned. Strong study habits are also necessary as well. This courses test are no walk in the park, so someone taking this class would need to study at least a week prior to an upcoming test.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The Forensics class goes above and beyond your average high school classes. There are multiple hands on activities you do each chapter. This includes: dusting for fingerprints, spraying faux blood to create blood spatter patterns, examining bones, comparing DNA results to find culprits, watching a pig decay and take notes on the decaying process, and much more. Not only is the class great, but Mrs. Exline is genuinely excited by the topic. You can really feel her passion for it as she teaches such an exciting class.

    Course highlights:

In this class I learned to think critically and apply what I learned in the books to the multiple labs we did. It was great to see that I could do things that actual forensic scientists do in real life every day.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say to pay attention to details in the labs and when studying for the tests. Never forget to put the date on anything you turn in. Finally, if you study the outline well and know the vocab, you will do great on the test.
