    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because Professor Haidar wants to help students as much as possible. The course is naturally difficult, especially for students who have not taken general biology, but she makes it possible. She offers many aids and explanations that allows students the option to have different learning approaches to the difficult materials.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of the course is really just the material. Even if you are a person who is not in love with science, the world of biology is fascinating. You learn about genetics and how it works, which is very interesting. Another highlight of this course is the studying habits you learn by taking this class. This course is one where you must study in order to pass. This forces students to learn successful study habits.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give students is to not get behind in this course. The average chapters covered each week ranges from one o three. Read each chapter in accordance to the ones in lecture. This will help students understand the material more.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Lindgren's class is not the easiest class but it is very memorable. You can tell she enjoys tracing and really wants every student to do well. She does this by going at a pace that is manageable. Professors seem to want to only finish the material as fast as possible whereas she wants students to completely understand the material.

    Course highlights:

There were 2 field trips. One was the San Diego zoo and the birch aquarium. I learned photosynthesis and cellular respiration in depth which is a tough concept to understand due to the many moving parts in the systems.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't consider it, take it with professor Lindgren. You will be better prepared for Bio210B.
