Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She is very to the point. Her notes are easy to follow and she goes at a fair pace. Her lab quizzes are consistent, her personality is great (she has a lot of fun in class), and she genuinely enjoys the topic she is teaching making it easy to understand her.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about eudicot stem cells, monocot stem cells, woody stem cells, and over all a lot of general information about plants. I also learned a lot about marine plants such as: algae, kelp, seaweed, etc. this course was really fun and if one has an interesting plants this course is definitely for you.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

please go to class and labs. I know the labs are long but if you miss one day, your entire grade will change. the labs are the most difficult thing there is in this course. they hold so much information that if you miss one day your whole rotation is messed up.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend because it is engaging. My professor had us outside for most of lecture and lab taking notes on the surrounding plants. We would be able to directly pinpoint the plants which helped during practicals.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were learning which plants to avoid. I like to go hiking a lot and this class helped to classify which species of plants to avoid during trips.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flashcards and create a study group. Other students have different ideas for study tips and it is very helpful to a variety of choices.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Botany is an in-depth course, Professor Otto knows that so is very helpful and gives out many study aids and other helpful tools to help her classes succeed. She is also funny, nice and passionate so it helps the class go by faster

    Course highlights:

I learned SO much about all the plants that are around me everyday! Mushrooms, molds and lichens were especially interesting to me

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make study-guides before each lab off of images from Google so you know what to look for and what to expect to see from the slides.
