Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved learning with this instructor. She is so very personable. If I ever had problem, she was there to help. When I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery, she worked with me. She is by far one of the best professors on campus.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class was the user friendly power point features. One area that was hard for me to learn was the Kreb Cycle. Roxann's breakdown of the animation help solidify it in my mind.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Speak up in class. Roxann wants you to ask questions. Professors are very busy at the end of class and Roxann will encourage you to ask questions in class. Plus if offered, take the extra help class. I had fun in class and they give crosswords, label diagrams on the board, break up into teams and play trivia for prizes. It just depends on who is teaching.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor has an excellent grip on the subject matter, and has a great pace. But time management is a must. There was a huge final essay, that is almost impossible to do all in the last few weeks. Put in work on that assignment each week!

    Course highlights:

For me the highlight of the course was the labs. One we had excellent lab techs that always provided us with fresh material to work with. Plus the weekend open lab reviews were indispensable when it came to preparing for the lab practicals. Another highlight was the final labs where we learned how to use a dichotomous key to identify both conifers and mushrooms. And to practice we went on a field trip into the forest to identify as many mushrooms and conifers as possible.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't overestimate your ability to memorize the entire evolutionary path of plants from single cells to Angiosperms. You may think that you will be able t cram all this in your brain and regurgitate it in a timed in class essay, all within a few weeks. Don't wait that long. That is when the rest of your courses are assigning all their final work. Spread out the memorization of this evolutionary path over a couple months. Then just polish it up when studying for the final.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for many science majors.

    Course highlights:

The labs were challenging, I learned to be very specific and read the directions carefully for lab writeups.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read directions carefully for lab writeups, and don't forget to do the online homework.
