    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course! We got to read eight books from different cultures, by authors of those cultures, who grew up in those type of situations and wrote from real experiences. They were all fascinating. My favorite was either Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel García Márquez or Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

    Course highlights:

The highlights had to be the discussions. I loved getting to hear what other people thought, and being able to discuss why I did or didn't like particular book. The final paper was the most fun for me, though, because I was able to look into several of the books at once and give my opinion and understanding of them. I learned that other cultures are very interesting - which I had already known- but this course gave me a deeper understanding of the people and of their cultures.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say to anybody looking into this course: be sure to read the books. Not only are they fantastic, but if you don't read them, you will fall behind very easily. And after that there's no catching up. The course is running at a fast pace because there were so many books to read.
