Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

History is a required course at OCC so you have to take this class or HIST 170 in order to meet the requirements. Professor Gonzalez is a very nice lady. She reads off her powerpoint every lecture which can be very monotonous. She gives four tests, one paper, and a couple of in-class assignments. Overall, it is fairly easy as long as pay attention and study a little.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about history. I did not think I would enjoy this course because I do not generally care about history but mostly all of history after 1876 is really interesting. The textbook goes all the way up to when Obama is elected but we did not go too far in-depth with more recent history.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class. Take notes. Use her study guide and fill it out thoroughly to do well on the tests. Unfortunately, this is one of those classes where you really do have to read the textbook. I got an A on every test when I read the textbook. If I did not read the chapters I got a low B.
