    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have never taken a course with so much homework. Very good teacher, but be prepared to be bombarded with loads of new material every day even on test days! Expect to spend a lot of time reading and practicing.

    Course highlights:

I Learned two completely new alphabets! And can write many words in Japanese now and even hold small conversations.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Expect a lot of homework! And to always be reading and practicing!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor is hard, but very fair. you must practice with other people in order to understand how to put sentences together.

    Course highlights:

We learned a lot though the professor, from alphabets to grammar to culture the professor makes it quite immersive

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always pay attention and ask questions when you need it. But always also try to converse in the language if possible since that's the only way that everything will work together.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Sensei Parks is super kind and helpful. It's a new language and of course it will be difficult and time consuming, however she gives you so many opportunities to get better and get extra credit. If you talk to her, she will hear you out. And she has been by far an amazing Professor and i couldn't recommend her enough. She makes so many jokes and makes the class cheerful.

    Course highlights:

She's very insistent on repeating japanese sentences and phrases so they really jog into your memory. I learn much about the writing styles and its culture. During our 10 minute breaks she shows Japanese music videos and short videos of anime and it really makes me wake up to continue learning.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on task and make sure to practice at home. Learning any language is hard and Japanese is tougher than most. You got to get motivated and see the end goal, affix yourself to try to succeed. It will get very hard and sometimes you'll want to stop and say I can't, it's too hard but Sensei Parks is so forgiving and kind. She will work with you and give you so many opportunities, just talk to your Professors and keep on trying.
