Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course allowed the student to make their own opinion on how they perceived history. The professor exposed us to the two sides of history and at the end the student would choose where they stood. The course was short and condensed, since it was taken during the summer, but nevertheless it taught the students how to think for themselves and have a voice.

    Course highlights:

Having a professor with an open mind is always a plus, especially when they understand that there are many right answers. The highlight of the course would have to be the professor's willingness to hear the students point of view. It was refreshing to see that in a professor because it taught me that history is interpreted differently based on your knowledge and background. For example, if one was an Indian Christopher Columbus might be viewed as an intruder rather than a hero like Europeans once viewed him as. The course showed the students multiple angles to view and interpret history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take thorough notes. They will be key to passing the class. What the professor has to say and his comments are important because they might appear on tests. Always come prepared by having your book and come in having read the chapter that he will touch on for the day. The professor loves to interact with the students or hear their point of view. As he always states, "history is viewed with multiple lenses."

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor is able to teach all of her students. Weather you are a visual learner, an audio learner or you learn by being hands on. Professor Dorrance takes time with her class and makes sure each student understands what is being taught that day before she moves on to another subject.

    Course highlights:

My grade was the highlight of this course I received a B plus.

    Hours per week:
