    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

She is a more difficult teacher who expects you to be able to write, so don't take this class if you're not a strong writer. I enjoyed the class discussions and how she made us feel comfortable in the class.

    Course highlights:

This class teaches you how to research well, and goes over every kind of writing you might need in the future. It is an extremely helpful course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do your work as soon as possible, and always be in class. Everything you do is important for your grade. You also need to review your essay multiple times because she is a hard grader.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This professor was a great one. She pairs everyone in groups and she really listens to our point-of-view. She is more about participation and understanding rather than getting a question right or wrong. She is very organized and on top of things, so there is not much confusion or misunderstanding. There definitely is work that you, as a student, need to do, but it is all manageable and beneficial.

    Course highlights:

My biggest highlight is probably one that you would not expect. We did six essays throughout the semester and they were all different types of argumentative essays, except for the last one, which was based on a novel we read. In the moment, I stressed about the essays and hated some more than others, however, it was definitely beneficial. Seeing my scores on these essays and realizing that I did better than I thought really excited me. I still a not a huge fan of English, however, this taught me to trust in myself a little more and be more positive when doing my essays; to basically not expect the worse all the time.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Expect essays and reading, but with this professor in particular, do not stress too much about it if you are not great at either writing or reading. Pay attention, ask questions, and you will make it through just fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Absolutely recommend the course! Gaining a better understanding of composing arguments and reasoning has helped me in all aspects of life.

    Course highlights:

So far the highlights of this course have been learning to write in a more comprehensive fashion. The reader can gain much better insight when the writer gives the topic justice.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to instructions regarding format.
