    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Advanced Math with Mr. Lahm was a challenging but rewarding course. Mr. Lahm's teaching style consists of presenting example problems to students in class and assisting the students in solving them. He then assigns homework to strengthen students' understanding of the ideas and principles that the section focuses on. Each chapter is broken up into seven to ten sections, and there are three quizzes per chapter. The course focuses on trigonometry, advanced algebra, and some calculus. Mr. Lahm kindly reviews with students before every quiz and test, and he is available every morning for homework questions. His humor, intelligence, and understanding make him an exceptional teacher.

    Course highlights:

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I learned about the properties of the sine, cosine, and tangent functions. Probability was a topic that Mr. Lahm stressed, and, although it was difficult, this knowledge will help me in the real world. I also learned about the properties of logarithms, and this knowledge has helped me as I immerse myself in the world of calculus. Mr. Lahm's humor was also a highlight for me. On Fridays, we often played a card game or rolled a die to decide whether or not we would grade the assignment. Overall, this class had a positive impact on my education experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to do their homework. The homework problems often reappear on quizzes and tests, so it is critical that students complete the homework. I also advise students to attend quiz reviews. The review often contains exact quiz questions with different numbers. Attending quiz reviews may be the difference between passing and failing for many students.
