Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an awesome class. The professor is very interesting and involved in the material. Great course would highly recommend!

    Course highlights:

This course challenges the student to not only think critically about art, but about other social constructs that define our society. This is a great class and is far more interesting than a regular art history class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it. This is the most interesting and involved art history class offered and it is an excellent way to knock out two UC requirements.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Florence really makes this course a delight. Her energy and passion towards art and diverse artists is really inspiring. She is definitely a teacher I will remember for wonderful reasons and I would highly recommend taking ANY of her courses. She has a way of making you care about things you didn't think you could care about and she is really patient in taking extra time to speak to you about things that you don't understand in the course. Even if you aren't an art major, this is a great class to learn about diverse artists, the inequalities minorities face not only in the art world but in the social world as well.

    Course highlights:

This course really opens your eyes to the problems women, African American and other minority artists in the art world face as well as the social world. The class is very interactive and Professor Florence makes it a wonderful class to be in whether you are an art major it not.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This class does not have very many assignments but the few are in the course workbook that is custom to the class so definitely be sure to order the book as soon as possible. The assignments are short writing assignments that are largely opinion pieces. You also have an art project and the midterm is only a few short answer questions and it is open note. As long as you pay attention in class, take good notes and do the assignments, you will thrive!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed the structure of this class. It was more of a lecture based course, rather than a learning community. The style may not be for everyone, but it definitely catered to my learning style.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course I learned a lot about art, and a lot about myself as well. I would definitely recommend this course with Ferdinanda.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes! She blatantly gives you all of the answers to the assignments and tests if you pay attention.
