Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

To make good art, you need to know about the history of art, how the idea of art has evolved over time, and what has been done before you. You can draw much inspiration from artist of the past and learn from them about what works and doesn't work. In this course you learn how to identify ancient art and what time period it came from.

    Course highlights:

Sitting in class with a bunch of students who are also art majors, studying art. At the end of the quarter we had a group project which pulled our art history and studio art knowledge together in a fun and thought provoking way. Because of this class, I learned much about ancient civilizations through their art in a much more interesting way then I had in any other history class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to make sure to keep up on the reading, take good notes, and to study for at least a couple days before the exams. The teacher will post pictures online that might on the test, so study them thoroughly. Don't skip class and try not to fall asleep.
