    Course Overview:

Because it is not only a course that benefits your writing skills/abilities but also was a fun and interesting class! The professor was super nice and funny, and would always make each class period fun!

    Course highlights:

I had gained some more writing skills but also learned how to write effective papers. We had went over rhetorical devices such as ethos, pathos and logos. Then we learned how to write evaluation essays along with learn how to write effective research papers.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To make sure to always do the homework and take notes in the class due to the fact that it will benefit you in the long run when you're alone and trying to write a paper. Also you'll be able to use this information later in your classes so don't lose your notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You will become a great writer by taking this class, which is extremely beneficial considering it will help you in all of your other classes. It is good idea to take an introductory english class as soon as you get into college, because you will have a higher chance of succeeding in other classes that require a lot of writing.

    Course highlights:

I gained so much from this course. I never enjoyed english classes that much, and I wasn't very good at it. However, after taking this class I become such a great writer! It was very exciting to see my english improve so much. The professor is the best I have ever had at Central Washington University and I have taken a lot of classes there now. I learned how to use punctuation properly, how to write a good essay/paper, the different types and styles of papers to write, how to compare/contrast books, find good sources, etc. I got better state testing scores back at my high school in the english sections because of everything I learned at college in this english class. The teacher makes class fun everyday, she hands out cookies to her students on the last day of her classes, she assigns interesting readings for her students, she engages a lot with her students in and outside of class, she understands that college can be tough and is there to help you, and most of all she wants you to learn and succeed.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed you need to show up to class everyday and participate in everything. Also, showing up to professors office hours is so important for all classes you take at college, but especially this one with this teacher. Sometimes she will review/edit your papers if you come into her office hours before the paper due date. Then if you take her suggestions she made for your paper, you will get such a better grade on the paper!
