Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course really solidified my choice in a Marine Science major. She was very passionate about what she was teaching and very willing to help.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics about marine science that are required to set a foundation for understanding in upper level courses. I found my passion in marine biology because of the lab we did on identifying different marine organisms.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be on top of your work, it may seem easy because it is only once a week, but if you spend that time studying instead of putting of the notes for a quiz you will be very successful in the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely loved this course! As an introductory course, we touched on so many different topics, which kept my attention throughout the semester. While most people found it boring or too much work (in this case, why did they choose this major?) It was my favorite class in the semester.

    Course highlights:

This course talked about all aspects of the ocean; from earthquakes, to tides, to currents, to the history, and finally to the marine life in the ocean. We spent a great deal of time going in detail about the marine animals in the ocean, such as fish, whales, sea turtles, sharks, and other nekton. This was highly interesting, which is most likely what most students looked forward to in the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely take this course. It's probably required anyway for a marine science major, but I think if you're serious about this major it's very fun and useful. My professor was pretty tough when it came to tests, but it's all about how much you care and how much effort you put in. Study way more than you think you would; I'm talking a week before the test.
