    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Not only was Biology 122 a great course to take because of the content, Professor Holmes made it interesting to students partaking in all fields of study. As a marine science major, Biology was the portion I was dreading the most. Yet, after this lecture, I picked up a double major in Bio! It was a positive learning atmosphere where any student felt comfortable enough to ask a question, and the discussions often went outside the PowerPoint to make it more interesting.

    Course highlights:

The course covers a vast area of material. What started in cell division, aka the basics of any biological science, ended with a unit on population ecology. We learned everything from how plants grew and reproduced, to how animals and humans evolved via natural selection, all the way down to food chains and food webs.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook, take good notes that include the examples the professor says in class, and be prepared to study hard for the exams!
