Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Cronin offers many opportunities for success and understands that all students learn differently and come from many different backgrounds. Because he knows this, his curriculum is filled with options, which is a rare jewel when it comes to college professors. He relates Biology to the "real world" in a way that makes students not only understand, but become interested in what they are learning! Although, don't expect to take notes on your phone or tablet; electronics are strictly forbidden along with popping your gum or other annoying noises. Your phone is sitting on your desk? Not a big deal. Your phone goes off on accident? It happens. You sit in his classroom on your phone? Bad idea. He doesn't require attendance at all other than the 2 tests so if you want to be on your phone, don't come to class. He uses laptops in the classroom about once a week or once every 2 weeks for group quizzes, but other than that, leave your electronics in your backpack.

    Course highlights:

I learned that Biology is more than just a class I need to take to get my degree. Biology has to do with every aspect of life and is far more interesting than memorizing the inside of a cell. You begin the class with biology basics that you learned in middle school but he elaborates on things you already memorized and makes you actually think about how life works. He teaches about how one population can effect a whole ecosystem and why bio-diversity is essential to survival.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The book is helpful but not necessary. You will need the online key code for online work though and it may be cheaper to get the code with the book. All of the power points that he uses in class, and more information is 100% available online and is so easy to access if you happen to miss a class or wish to skip almost all of the classes. He uses technology very well for this class so using the resources he provides really does help you understand biology.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course in biology was not only very easy to handle, but it was extremely easy to follow and stay interested. Professor Johnson is an enthusiastic professor who is well organized and is passionate about what she teaches. She has a sense of humor to lighten any subject matter, and an endless supply of helpful analogies. She is also very personable, as she is one of the few professors at the school who still knows me after the course was completed. This course met once a week, and the rest of the work was done online. It gave a perfect taste of both worlds, and therefore was not overwhelming for any type of student.

    Course highlights:

This course really helped me grasp the concept of reading a food label and where each food ingredient is derived from. I also remember in detail, even though I took the class two years ago, the information regarding GMO's and pesticides, and the importance of organic foods.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Any advice that I would liked to have had was to stay on top of the online assignments, and keep all of the in class assignments. Also, her tests are very straight forward, and flashcards will help obtain an A, no doubt.
