Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Instructor Ketchum likes to go by her first name, Sharon, making interaction with her more personal. Sharon interact one on one with students and applies real life situation to Biology giving greater understanding of the curriculum being presented to all the students in attendance. I enjoyed attending her class and learning hands on.

    Course highlights:

Making sister chromatids out of pipe cleaners will never leave the vast amount of knowledge she gave to me. I learned unique ways of memorizing The Periodic Table of Elements by categorizing similar element behaviors in the same columns with one another. I gleamed a greater understanding of cancer as she is a cancer survivor. I also got a broader understanding of RNA and DNA and how my genetic jeans weather recessive or dominant traits make up who I am today, by putting a personal spin on the material.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you decide to take this course, make sure you take notes. Sharon explains everything pretty well in class, but if you have questions she is always there to answer questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ruth is passionate and how she teaches is reflective of that. She expects a lot but in the process pushes you to become great at what she teaches. By the end of the class I can tell I'm more educated and conscious about the world around me.

    Course highlights:

Our study of photosynthesis went down to the nitty gritty it was very hands on. I left with a new respect for our plant overlords.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

A picture speaks a thousand words learn to translate what you've learned into an image you'll grasp it much better.
