Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to further an interest in the way the body fights off diseases and the process during these diseases that are contracted. The labs are interesting and easy to follow along with the professor mainly because she is the one who wrote the lab manual required for the class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were looking up and researching the pathogens. You will have more of a broader understanding that just because someone has certain symptoms, they might be considered to have five different pathogens in their body however can be singled out by figuring out the pathogens morphology, oxygen requirements, etc.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Starting on your pathogen group as soon as it is explained how to do them is the key to not falling into a continuous game of catch up.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

It is hard work but you will learn and benefit so much from taking it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a really hard and challenging class. It was definitely my favorite science. I highly recommend this class if you enjoy the sciences and would like to learn. I can tell you one thing though, it will make you more aware of germs!

    Course highlights:

The professor really cares about the field of microbiology. I loved the lab portion because we got to grow cultures and handle bacteria. I found all the material interesting but especially the pathogen portion.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you really put time and effort into making the pathogen information sheets. They will be very helpful to know both for the class and real life. You can apply so much of it to the "real world." Also, make sure you draw the diagrams and information she puts on the board. It will certainly help you out for the quizzes and tests.
