Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great overall biology course. A lot more interesting and bit more detailed than BIO 1 but not as intense as BIO 2. This course is usually required for transferring premed majors and it helps prepare you for more difficult biology classes.

    Course highlights:

The class goes into the structure of a cell and different important functions in plants and animals. There is also a chapter on ecology, population and genetics. This class is paired with a lab that is fairly easy and fun.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

A lot of memorization but not very difficult concepts. As long as you pay attention in class, read book/recommended material you should be fine. Very important that you don't wait until last minute to study for exams. You should make an effort to understand the concept when it's present. Most assignments will be from lab as well as 2 or 3 projects.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Prof. Shannon is a very helpful and understanding professor. She gave a lot of thought provoking questions which may seem hard at first, but it is actually a great preparation for the exam.

    Course highlights:

This course make me realize the importance of our environment. This course enriches my knowledge and understanding about humans, animals, and other living things around us. Prof. Shannon gave us interesting insights regarding the materials, from her own research. This enables us to apply it to real life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Follow her guidelines and review the lecture notes. There are 2 papers that students have to write, one of them is about your own experiment. The experiment is one of the fun part of this class because you get to do something that truly interests you.
