    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is a lot of studying and retaining information. Even with open note tests and our professor dropping the lowest grade, we still received emails from him stating that we had dismal test scores. It was a required course for me, so I would recommend getting a different teacher or studying every little detail, even if it seems insignificant.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the way advertisers use media to change our opinions on products and to get us to buy more. I also know a lot about the creation of the FCC and all the Acts that lead to the regulation of media.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If the professor brings up a name, it is important. Write it down and look up what you can about them. The same for any terms or legislation he mentions. There were plenty of times that he mentioned a TV show or actor that ended up being on the test. The names are important.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is great for gaining a basic understanding of how communications work in society. Everything up to logo symbolism and why companies do the things they do is covered, and I appreciated my time with the course.

    Course highlights:

I learned that as a student, I should learn to take my time and speak up more often when I don't understand something.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to contact the teacher when you don't understand something, and study up whenever possible.
