Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took the online course with Professor Nirgiotis. He cares about the students, is helpful, and responds quickly to emails. He gives practice tests that are very helpful. That being said, be prepared to put in the time and stay on top of things because topics build off each other. If you are not self-motivated, don't take the online version.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how statistics is used in real life. I'm going into medicine and there were a lot of practice problems using real life data about medicine. At the end of the semester we did a project in which we had to do statistical analysis of a research topic we chose. It ended up being pretty fun and Professor Nirgiotis was willing to look at rough drafts to make sure you're on the right path. I learned about confidence intervals, significance tests, and collecting relevant data.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I took this course online. It was may first online course. He gives challenging weekly online quizzes so you have to stay on top of your reading. And you must do all the reading to understand the material. Definitely do the practice problems at the end of each section. You don't necessarily have to do the optional videos to do well. I didn't have time for them and still understood the material, but if you have trouble understanding certain topics they are helpful. Most importantly: do the practice midterms. If you understand and can do these, you'll have a good idea where to direct your studying and do well on the tests.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study as much as you can, and be sure to always do your homework.
