Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a necessary course and it furthers your understanding of composition and reading. What causes variance in the courses is how your Professor Teaches and the Material they choose to use.

    Course highlights:

    - How to further read into the meaning of a book - Writing with more of a 'deep' nature - Growing In Knowledge

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It all depends on the Professor and their chosen material. Be open minded because of this and also, of course, be prepared to read and write!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their writing under the guidance of a patient and genuine professor. Professor Hong is always willing to work with you outside of class and definitely has purpose behind everything we read in class or the workshops you participate in at the library.

    Course highlights:

English 122 with Professor Hong was one of the best classes I have taken at DVC because not only did she reinforce the basics of writing, but she also focused on how to build join those basics in order to enhance and improve your writing. Although I had previously learned many of the basic ideas she covered in class, all of her handouts, essays we read, workshops, and feedback were definitely purposeful and made me into an even better writer.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, I would suggest students purchasing or renting the textbooks and reading everything she hands out. The more effort you put into the class, the more you will get out of it. Also, the essays you write are similar to the readings you do during that unit so reading the essays and annotating them will significantly help you when it comes time to write your paper and brainstorm ideas.
