    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr Gallin is the reason I'm going back to school to major in anthropology. She's a great teacher and her class had a profound affect on me.

    Course highlights:

This was a cultural anthropology class, this was the first time in my life that I really began to fathome how diverse humans are. This was the class that made me question my entire world view.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Read everything she assigns. Twice.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I found it interesting to learn about different cultures. We discussed societies that resembled early man such hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. We also talked about problems that currently plague college students such as alcohol consumption.

    Course highlights:

We learned about different body modifications which are used to differentiate between ethnic groups. We also learned about different types of marriages and marriage rituals, sexualities, and genders.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a lot of reading but you should do it along with going to every class. If you don’t do the reading you will be lost and there is a good amount of information during the lecture that isn’t in the reading which you don’t want to miss.
