Great Intro to the Subject
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This course changed my outlook on physics. Before taking Physics 200, I took Physics 190 with a different professor. I didn't like that other course; it made me not like physics. However, I took Phyc 200 with Professor Simpson and she changed the meaning of physics for me. Simpson is an amazing professor. She is smart and funny. She tries her best to help her students understand the difficult course material. Her homework may be hard, but her class is engaging and you will really learn from it. Indeed, you will have fun and learn a lot from this or any other course Simpson offers.
This course focuses on applying, appreciating and understanding the concepts of electricity and magnetism. After taking this course, I know know how to apply the concepts of electricity and magnetism in various situations, such as circuits, with confidence. I also learned how they apply to my major, computer engineering. The highlight of this course was definitely the professor, though. Professor Simpson is a passionate individual who just made physics make sense. I was very intimidated by physics before I took this course , but Simpson changed this entirely. She made me both love and understand physics. She instills a passion for and understand of physics in every crystal clear lecture you'll receive.

Advice for students:
Focus on the homework. Professor Simpson gives out a lot of homework with is usually harder than the exams. If you can major to both complete and understand the homework problems, you will succeed. I would also recommend going to office hours if possible. Professor Simpson is always willing to answer questions and explain problems. You will often receive entire mini lectures that can make any confusion you have dissipate!
