Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course as a whole requires a lot of study, and I won't say that it's easy by any stretch, but the professor was very focused and truly wanted her students to succeed. While the professor was strict with timing and behavior, her expectations weren't unreasonable or difficult to follow. This has been my favorite course so far, and the teaching style as a whole is what contributed to that opinion.

    Course highlights:

I had already studied the topic in depth in High School, but I was still challenged. I very much enjoyed the analytical tone of the class, and assignments were given with ample time before the due date. It isn't an easy course, but you will do well if you listen to Professor Carney's advice.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the book and the syllabus in depth on your own time, and do your assignments earlier than you need to.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was challenging, but very rewarding. Dr. Smith is an excellent professor and gives very thorough lectures. He does not tolerate slacking, but he gives students every chance to do well in his class.

    Course highlights:

I'd never known much about politics or government before this class, and taking it made me want to learn more. Dr. Smith really explains the importance of learning about government and politics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the reading. Take notes. Pay attention. SHOW UP. You won't pass this class if you skip. Do your homework. Really, just do what you're supposed to and don't be lazy. There is a big group assignment at the end of the course and it's worth enough of your grade that if you screw it up you won't pass, so make sure you follow ALL of his deadlines and instructions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for many reasons. One of which being the professor was incredible. He was very strict but he also knew how to keep the class light and laughing. He had a very strict rule about group projects that if any one person wasn't doing their job, they got kicked out and had to do it on their own. This was very nice due to the fact that it helped the group work together and stay focused. Also, he was really good about extra credit towards the end and helped students get their grade up.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were most likely how involved the professor got. He wanted us to have discussion and not just sit there and listen to him lecture. Even though I am in no way interested in Government, he made it bearable and quite interesting. It was a three hour class so we had a lot of time to cover the materials.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class, I feel as though you definitely have to go. One time, barely anyone showed up for a random class and he everyone present take a pop quiz and gave us the answers for it. So we all got automatic 100's on that quiz. Study suggestions would be study in numbers. He goes through his powerpoint pretty quickly so pay attention and get with someone and try to help each other with the notes.
