    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Biology is a helpful course for a Nursing major. The professor was very difficult, and taught me that I needed to pursue learning and absorbing the information on my own. Before taking the course, I wish I would of known that all of the exams would be essay based. I wish I would of known how to study for essay exams instead of having to learn throughout the semester.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were when the professor brought to class souvenirs from her trips all around the world. We also took a trip to the zoo. Another highlight is when we were able to conduct a hands on experiment which taught us how to apply what we had learned so far in the class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Write out in depth study guides. What really helped me to grasp information needed for the exams was when I downloaded a recording app on my phone. I recorded myself saying the things I needed to remember. I listened to the recordings over and over again until I was able to retain the information.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Olson does a very good job of simplifying the course and teaching as if you have no knowledge of the material covered. He really sheds light onto the subjects at hand and how they relate to real life in real time. He loves what he teaches and his passion is felt during class time. This course isn't the easiest but he does his best to make sure students understand every bit of material possible.

    Course highlights:

Through this course I learned a new appreciation for life. We learned through each chapter how every thing in life is interconnected in some way and an imbalance in one aspect can throw everything out of line. Never before did I think biology would be a course I really enjoyed, but it turned out to be one of my favorite courses.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always take notes on top of the powerpoints given to you online. He likes to write on the board and he pulls many test questions from that which isn't always on the notes. Definitely take the time to study a throughout each chapter to make good grades on chapter quizzes. Always do the homework on time. It may seem time consuming, but it will totally be worth it for your grade. And lastly, show up to class. Attendance is not a grade but if you are needing a few extra points by the end of the semester he will use your attendance as a go to, to see if the points are deserved.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Olson really loves the subject and knows what he's talking about. His tone is pretty dry though so it can become difficult to keep focus. The powerpoints are important for studying.

    Course highlights:

I honestly didn't realize how cool biology was until this course. It was great to have a professor who is passionate about such a basic subject. The course isn't overly exciting but if you're the type who likes to spit off random facts to your friends, Olson is your guy.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely use the powerpoints as a study guide. Take decent notes in class. He literally covers everything on the test and he repeats things you need to know. Don't really need the book unless you just really want to be studious.
