Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Frech is very professional, she gives you the resources you need to understand the material. You are also put into groups which is an interesting experience, overall very helpful.

    Course highlights:

I learned the way I study best and different ways I learn material. There are many different ways of studying for this course so you learn a lot about yourself.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the practice problems in the book. Read the chapters before the reading quizzes!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it if one want to major in chemistry or biology. For Africans kids, its basically the chemistry you did in high school. Its review and it must be taken seriously because it is the foundation of those two majors previously mentioned

    Course highlights:

Fundamentals of chemistry like Matter, Atoms, Gases, Chemical Bonding, Thermodynamics, Radioactivity and Nuclear Chemistry, Liquids, Solids and Bases. etc. It includes some calculations therefore it is strongly advised that college algebra be taken prior to or concurrently with the course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a lot of reading, information and calculation

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. New is probably the best part of UCO's Chemistry Department. She takes the time to teach the material, which is not always easy in a Chem 1 lecture class. She will sit and work with you if you are having difficulties with something. She answers students questions very positively and constructively.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of basic chemistry knowledge in this course that will greatly contribute to my success in secondary schooling.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do and redo and redo the practice problems. She works out quite a few examples in the notes. Make sure that you can do those problems with your eyes closed. We also use Mastering Chem, the online homework website, practice those problems repeatedly in order to do well on the tests.
