Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it really challenges and pushes your knowledge and skills of writing. You are able to write deeply and learn techniques on how to write great papers. I absolutely loved taking this course with Shell because she is absolutely amazing both as a teacher and a person.

    Course highlights:

I loved having Shell as my professor and really enjoyed the different, interactive activities we participated in. I learned to open up to others and I found that I actually have a talent in writing. I was introduced to many different types of writing, formats and guidelines to use while writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the readings and participate in class. You have to be open to new ideas and willing to open yourself up to others. This is a fun course!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, because it helps you to realize what makes the written word compelling.

    Course highlights:

It was not easy, but I learned a lot from having to analyze and critique other students' work as well as my own.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend being as thorough as possible. If you want to write well, you have to be willing to edit like crazy. And don’t be afraid to ask the Kirkwood writing center for help, though you should make sure to send it to the writing center with plenty of time to finish before the deadline.
