    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It is mandatory to take this course before gaining entry into the nursing program, but it provides the groundwork for all of the upcoming nursing courses. It is really exciting to be able to learn in a fun environment and also know that completion of this course brings you one step closer to the world of nursing.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to think and present myself as a nurse. I was placed in different scenarios and was able to evolve my nursing skills. I believe the way they teach molds into this effective method that transforms your mind and makes you think in a more logical and innovative way.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The instructors provide Learning Guides under each module. It is beneficial for you to find the answers to these questions from your powerpoints and Fundamentals book. If you study your learning guides, you should be all set for your exam. Also, study your Performance Checklist as well.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a challenging course but the professors were there to support you and to give you their experiences as nurses to help guide you through it.

    Course highlights:

Vital signs, bedmaking, restraints, giving patients a bath, etc.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Practice the skills as much as you can in open lab because it will help raise your confidence. Studying the material from powerpoints and the book will help raise your confidence as well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is an entry level course that is required to be taken before nursing school, it is essentially called the, "weed out class". I am glad that this class was available before starting nursing school because it allows for students to back out if they realize that nursing is not for them.

    Course highlights:

The intent of this class is to prepare you for what is to come during nursing school. It is a hospital structured class and it has everything that you will be needing during nursing school. I learned the basic care of how to treat a patient with different scenarios and allowed me to master my skills in basic patient care.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard! Some students see this course as a piece of cake because it is only a one credit course, but it is indeed treated to be a three credit course.
