Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Merced is great. He made my most hated course into a class I actually looked forward to going to... over the summer... at nine in the morning!!! If that doesn't get him a reward of some sort, I don't know what will. Of course, since it's a summer class, he moves FAST. But he is also very funny and relatable, making summer calc bearable. Stay on top of your homework and you should be able to fly by his course easily.

    Course highlights:

Merced quick wit and humor made an early morning class fun to be in. But it's not just humor, he is very good at teaching math.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to attend his lectures, especially for the summer course. He posts his slides online, but for a math class, it is essential to be present to learn. Stay on top of homework. Sometimes I had difficulty keeping up, but using outside resources that he provides helps. Also never forget Khan Academy!!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a very straightforward calculus class. Professor teaches clearly and cracked quite a few jokes.

    Course highlights:

This class mainly focused on derivatives and went more in depth than my previous calculus class. It really cleared up for me what derivatives were and where they came from mathematically.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework enough to understand the concepts and the techniques.
