    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Underwood clearly understands what he is teaching. Although the course is one of the most challenging courses I have taken, I learned to read before class and manage my time better. While he covers plenty of material in lectures and covers much in lab reports, he does make himself available during office hours and does his best to increase understanding of the material. Best of all, Professor Underwood brings in some demonstrations for the subject being studied.

    Course highlights:

The best parts about this class would be the study of thermodynamics and the study of forces in static equilibrium. I learned how to calculate forces and energy in systems that are usually in static equilibrium. However, I also learned how to connect key concepts for the absence of many variables.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the chapter before lecture. Spread study time for physics over the week and not select days. Keep up with the homework and go in for help when needed. Do not rely on help, but be able to effectively think through a problem. Stay calm.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to apply physics concepts to solve real world problems.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the text, watch videos, and review the material until it is fully understood before attempting problems.
