    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Prof. Watkins is fantastic! She is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about statistics, and wants to teach her students to love the subject as much as she does. She is very honest and open about the difficulty of the course for the very beginning, but she does a lot to ensure each student's success by including many extra credit opportunities, and making herself available for assistance. She has worked professionally as a statistician, and uses examples from her experience to enhance the curriculum. You must work hard in her class, but she makes your hard work worth the effort.

    Course highlights:

I am currently about half-way through the course, and so far it has been an incredible experience. I am returning to school after having received my B.S. in 2011. I was nervous about taking this course since it has been several years since I last took a math course. However, I am so glad i did! So far my greatest highlight of the course has been the time she used a story about her quintuplets going to the Riverwalk to help illustrate one of the concepts we were learning. She does this often, but this particular story involved one of her "quints" falling into the river (she was safe on dry ground in not time at all) and how later that evening she used her stat skills to decide which is better in an emergency: helicopter or ambulance.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to work! This is not an easy A. You need to be willing to read, do your assignments, and go to class. However, she does give plenty of extra credit and truly does a wonderful job providing additional resources to aid in your comprehension.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took her online class for statistics and I highly suggested this for anyone who struggles in math. The online class work goes into a lot of detail and had a lot of resources for you such as activities and videos that help you understand.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed the online class because I sometimes struggle with math, but it was nice to go through the class work at my pace throughout the week and truly understand what to do.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take your time! Follow the syllabus. She tells you exactly what she expects from you.
