Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I've loved this class! I thought it would crush me and be ultra consuming but it is so interesting and enjoyable. Kris H is also an incredible professor who actually cares.

    Course highlights:

The teacher has actually been a huge high light of this course. She wants you to succeed and makes the material very enjoyable and learnable. Lots of bacteria involved, I'm learning how bacteria can actually affect a cancer treatment outcome.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Absolutely the best class ever, there are some group projects so check Blackboard and your email, you should be prepared with note taking material. Other than that, it is so fur.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I found this class very interesting, it was fast paced because there was a lot of information to learn. But if the subject is interesting to you, the class is fun and you definitely learn a lot.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the structure and anatomy of microorganisms and a lot about specific diseases and what microbe causes them. The lab portion of this class was my favorite part. Everyday we were doing something new, running new tests on different bacteria.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The book was mandatory and she did assign readings out of it, but it could be a little confusing. I definitely got most of the necessary information from the lecture, so make sure to pay attention! You learn a lot, so to stay on top of what we were learning, I would go home and review the information after class and it definitely helped keep me up to date!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

You get a glimpse of what it is like to be in the medical field from the information that you've learned. It is not just about understanding microbiology, but it is also about understanding what you would have to go up against once you are in the medical field. The labs also helped understand more about the lectures as well.

    Course highlights:

Learning different types of diseases and how to prevent and treat them was very interesting. I helped me understand more of what I am going to be up against in the future if I want to continue in this field.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Never miss the class because you would be at least 2 chapters behind just from missing one class. Start reviewing what you've learned in class right when you get out so it will stay fresh in your mind. Don't be scared to ask for help from tutors or the professor. This class is not just some blow off class, but you have to be willing to try and like the topic. The more you get into it, the easier it will be.
