    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

English is my favorite subject which is one reason why I loved this course. Even so, I know that most of the students also loved this class. There were about five papers required for this class. The first assignment was called "Remembered Event." It was a narrative paper where we were allowed to pick any memory that we had and write about it. Some people picked funny stories from their child while others picked events from their lives that changed them or made them see the world differently. We had a lot of freedom in this class; there were some guidelines for assignments, but we had a lot of leeway on what topic we wanted. I would recommend this class because even if you don't like writing, it was still a fun and diverse class.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me how to write papers; not good papers, but great papers. It taught me how to write narratives, research papers, and other types of papers such as cause and effect essays and compare-contrast essays. Ever since taking this course, it's easier and less stressful to write papers, and my writing has improved much overall.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I don't really have any advise for students who plan to take this course. It's not that the class was an easy A; it still required a lot of work. In the course with Mr. McNeil, we had many opportunities for improvement. He was professional when it came to assignments, but he also made sure to get to know us well and make us comfortable enough to ask for help when we needed it. One thing that really helped was the peer reviews. We turned in two peer reviewed drafts when we turned in our final paper. I suppose my piece of advise to prospective students would be to make sure to get peer reviews from reliable students who would be sure to help them out.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The grammar and literary knowledge I gained from English 111 well prepared me for the general education classes that followed it. In this class I gained a better understanding of writing structure and essay formulation.

    Course highlights:

This course was beneficial because it helped me in courses that followed it. Not only did I learn more about writing structure and essay formulation, I also gained experience in reflecting and analyzing my own writing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking this course do not be afraid to of criticism. That is the best way to learn in this class. By having a writing work analyzed and critiqued it gives the student an opportunity to gain a better understanding of mistakes made and what it takes to fix those mistakes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He was a great teacher and an excellent administrator, who sought to teach us material instead of trick us on tests. He also was very good about explaining everything that would be on the test and not being too general so that we could be set up to succeed.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were Monday morning classes which he made very fun for us by being energetic instead of boring.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study what he tells you and do all of the work because late work is not usually accepted.
