Always Do the Reading
Great Intro to the Subject
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
I recommend this course because understanding different psychological disorders is always fascinating; anything that pertains to the brain is fascinating. And Professor Barnes is phenomenal. He keeps the class entertaining and the level of participation and enthusiasm conveys a great learning atmosphere. The one thing that changed my perspective is the bystander effect. If someone is in danger and they're surrounded by a group of bystanders, then the likelihood of anyone helping is low, surprisingly. There are other interesting things to learn from taking a course like this. I highly recommend it.
The highlight of this course was for me gaining a better understanding on depression and how it can manifest someone. Ignorantly, I thought a disease like this was simple to fix and maintaining a happy life was the only way to rectify this behavior. But learning that its a neurological cause makes me take in consideration that I need to be more understanding and sensitive towards others' needs.

Advice for students:
Please remember the different portions of the brain and how they function. I have always struggled with this. There are many intricate parts, and they can be confusing; flashcards are always helpful.
