Course Overview:
You have to be High school level ability in algebra and geometry. Students should be familiar with the basic theories of astronomy. In addition, and more importantly, students should understand how astronomers have discovered these theories.
Course highlights:
You will learn about our Universe outside the Earth. Through Objective: lectures, problems, discussions, demonstrations, observations and exercises, we will study the “hows” and “whys” of modern astronomy. Along the way, we will become familiar with the vocabulary and basic ideas of astronomy which appear in the news media. By the end, students should be familiar with the basic theories of astronomy. In addition, and more importantly, students should understand how astronomers have discovered these theories and why we think they are (or are not) true.
