Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Neff is a great professor, is very detailed and specific in his teaching of the content, and determined to ensure that students understand and succeed in the class. He even goes so far as to schedule one-on-one meetings to determine what students need to work on.

    Course highlights:

The labs were very cool. The material, although sometimes hard to understand is very interesting. It gives you a different perspective on everything around you.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always skim the material before class, follow along during lecture and take good notes. Consider recording lectures as there is a lot of material covered in class, and many examples provided. Read the textbook and do all the assignments. Also, ask your peers their perspectives on the material as they may offer better explanations.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As many of you already may know, A prof. can make or break a class. For many of you science/healthcare majors, Microbiology is a requirement; so regardless you will be taking this class. I can tell you this one thing, if the professor is not one that you can learn from drop while you can. Grades are vital more that ever, and if the professor can't reach you for any reason don't risk your GPA. Andrea Salmi was such an amazing, realistic, and in touch professor that learning from her was a privilege.

    Course highlights:

In biology, I learn from any hands on labs and then self research. Two projects done in this course allowed me to do each. The cadaver labs turned the pictures in our books to real life. Imagining it vs touching it, such a vast difference. The other was a simple research project created to self teach us about different autoimmune diseases. Having to dig and validate the information I found made the information sink further in.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study ahead. Try to make sense of what you are reading before those topics are covered in the lecture. That way when they are explained you already have a baseline understanding.

It's a fun and amazing class. You get to color a lot, learn about bacteria and micro life forms, and use critical thinking skills,

    Course highlights:

I love coloring and using the microscope. My professor is awesome. I learned about different stains when trying to view different types of prokaryotic cells under the microscope. Learned techniques to get the perfect stain.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I advise to stay organized, pay attention to the small details, follow instructions, eat, rest, love.
