Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It had everything I could want for as a college apartment. From classes, it was a 15 min walk, 5 min bike ride, and within walking to one of the many bus stops that take you most anywhere. Being next to a grocery store was a big bonus too.

    Course highlights:

Campus food is actually really good. If you live in University housing you can use credits/meals at any dorm on campus and they are all very different. PAR has probably the best food while the Ike has the most variety. However, there is something to be said for Busey given that you are able to get free coffee with every swipe and they have some of the best cookies.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Campus housing is really what you make of it. There are plenty of dorms known as the "party" dorms and others that are known to be quieter. There are also a lot of specialty housing for those who are in honors or want to share housing with others that have a similar interest.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The university does a lot to promote diversity and tolerance. However, the Asians tend to only hang with Asians, Caucasians with Caucasians, etc. The economic background varies a little bit but it is a state public school, so you still have to money for tuition.

    Course highlights:

Depends on the Season – There was a large time period where there seemed to be a lot of crime happening on campus. Different parts (North of Green St) is known for more crime, where as south campus tends to be pretty safe. After a lot of complaints, Champaign increased the amount of police patrolling the streets at night.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Better Than Chicago – Weather is nice and tolerable with the exception of December-mid March. Unless it continues to be like it was this year with no snow and summer weather in February. Classes are pretty central so walking isn't too too bad except for the icy sidewalks in the winter. Not too shabby.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Living on campus is enjoyable. All the buildings that host classes are right nearby or are a short bus trip away. Although, people in the dorms are not very sociable. I've met some people in my dorms, but mostly through other friends that I know.

    Course highlights:

The cost for living in a dorm is way above what is should be. With the money I put into that, I could have leased the best apartment on campus and still have a little money left over. The Greek life has a massive impact on the atmosphere of the campus. Without having one of the largest Greek systems in America at our school.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I'm not sure if UIUC would be the top party school. People get along fantastically well and enjoy having a good time when they are free or just finished up exams. Life at this university is never boring. The students at UIUC are extremely spirited. I cannot go a day without seeing some Illini gear or hearing some talk about Illini athletics and sports.
