    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is notorious for its rigorous content and fast pace, and covers a lot of material beyond a standard Genetics class.

    Course highlights:

The course can be quite intensive and emphasizes critical thinking skills rather than rote memorization. The professors helped me focus on actually learning the concepts rather than just memorize the terms.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to take advantage of all the resources given to you and the course can be very manageable. Take frequent notes and study them before and after class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Molecular genetics is a tough course but it is interesting. It is a required course for pre-med students therefore I was required to take the course. This will really prepare you for concepts in the MCAT.

    Course highlights:

The class is taught by two professors. One professor is somewhat easier and straight forward with his tests than the other. I learned many things about molecular genetics and how we use genetics in the world.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Record the lectures and keep up. There are also assignments before every lecture that require you to do the readings, so at least skim the readings rather than just looking up answers online.
