Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would choose the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign over and over again. For my subject of study, it's one of the best in the nation and a job after graduation is practically guaranteed. Research opportunities, whether with a professor or student organization, are plentiful yet interesting and innovative.

    Course highlights:

I knew this would be the reality of attending a large, highly-regarded research institution, and my job is to not waste this valuable opportunity to rise above my beginnings. In addition to academics, Big 10 athletics are exciting and there is a strong sense of school pride throughout the campus.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Many students have attended huge high schools that offer more AP classes than I even knew existed and are very showy in their intelligence. Often, I feel like I'm drowning in work, but I view it all as part of the challenge. Coming from a rather underprivileged background.
