This class was tough.
This course gives a whirlwind review of all the areas of social work. Do not be fooled, this intro course is not easy - there is a lot of required (*actually* required) reading involved as well as many papers, a few tests, and one major project. But, if you are paying attention, it is impossible to leave the class without knowing a little bit about what social work is all about.
I enjoyed that we learned about so many areas in which social workers practice, from child welfare to hospice to mental health and much more. Most of all, I enjoyed that we learned about the social work philosophies.

Advice for students:
Make sure to do all the readings if you want to get an A - the papers you write rely heavily on the integration of the readings as well as the lectures in your process of learning. Also, do not be afraid to get help with your papers from the university's writing resources.
